Ronald Dee Bodrero
Ronald Dee Bodrero, beloved father, brother and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 30, 2016 in Mesquite, Nevada. Dee, as he was known to friends and family, was born on December 14, 1941, the second child of Edward Theodore Bodrero and Savona Naylor Bodrero. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and elder brother, Gary Edward Bodrero.
Dee grew up on his family’s farm in Logan, Utah. He graduated from South Cache High School in 1960. Dee proudly served his country as a member of the Air Force from 1962 through 1965.
In 1969, while living in southern California, Dee married his first wife, Laura (Olsen) Smith and had two daughters. They later moved back to Logan, Utah and divorced in 1975. Dee returned to Anaheim, California where he lived for the next several years.
Years later, after moving back to Utah, Dee met Carolynne (Hughes) Guiste. They married on June 28, 1986 and spent twenty wonderful years together, where he became a second father to Carolynne’s four children. They divorced in 2006.
Dee spent many years of his career as an Electronics Tech with Rockwell International. He later went back to school graduating from University of Phoenix in 1996.
Dee had a marvelous sense of humor and was always quick to laugh. He was easy going, never took himself too seriously and knew how to have fun. He loved water sports, roller coasters, and spending time with friends and family.
Those who knew Dee will remember him as an avid sports fan. He was enthusiastic about baseball, basketball and football. He was especially fond of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team and would passionately cheer them on while watching their games on television.
Dee loved animals and had a special affinity with cats. He had an especially strong bond with Munchkins, a cat he shared with Carolynne for 17 years.
Those left behind cherish happy memories of Dee include his two daughters: Kimberley Bodrero and Tracy Bodrero; four step-children: Kaylene Hyatt, Brenda Ahre (Bob), Trena Williams and Jason Atwood; eleven grandchildren: Lauren, Tristan, Kennedy, Brittiny, Cassie, Daniel, Crystal, Jessica, Shyanne, Dallan and Donnie; two sisters: Carolyn Bodrero and DeeAnn Bodrero; and one brother: Vern Bodrero (Linda).
