Salem Ronald Dean Tate, 70, of Salem, died Thursday, December 9, 2010 while deer hunting near the cabin where he loved spending his time. He was born May 21, 1940 in Clarksburg, the son of the late Omer and Edna Tate. Ronnie was graduated from Bristol High School in 1959 and served in the US Marine Corps for four years. He is survived by his wife, Janet Matthey Tate, to whom he was married for eighteen years. Also surviving is a son Ronald Dean Tate II of Clarksburg; a daughter Rhonda Lee Tate of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a step-son, Doug Douglass and a grandson Kyan Douglass both of Spencer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Tate Williams. Mr. Tate had attended machinist school and had been employed with Ingersoll Rand, Development Drilling, and Nexus Drilling.. He enjoyed the outdoors ,hunting and fishing, and loved spending time at his cabin with his wife,son, and friends. Ronnie had many friends and loved ones throughout the years and will be sadly missed.
