Ronald D. “Ron” Bennett, age 74 of Springfield Township, died Monday, September 5th, at Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro. Born in Burlington on May 10, 1937, he was the son of the late Courtlandt and Eleanor Bennett and has been a lifetime area resident. He served as Band Director for Northern Burlington High School for 25 years retiring in 1985 after which he served in the same position with Doane Academy in Burlington for 10 years fully retiring in 2010.
An avid musician Ron played with various bands in the area as well as directing numerous church choirs. In his spare time he also enjoyed playing golf, gardening and traveling. Brother of the late Courtlandt Bennett, Jr., he is survived by his wife of 12 years; Carol (nee Martin) Bennett, his two step-sons and their spouses: Dale and Stephanie Vetter of Springfield Twsp., and Lee and Rikki Vetter of Riverside as well as his step-granddaughter; Kayla.
