Ronald A. Meyer, son of William and Arena (Ohm) Meyer, was born September 24, 1926 in rural Kossuth County, Iowa. He attended Lotts Creek school through 8th grade. At that time he began his farming career which lasted until his retirement in 1991. Ron was united in marriage with Betty Lou Reinen November 28, 1948. He was a member of Peace Lutheran church, serving as trustee for many years. Ron also served on the Rodman and West Bend school boards for several years and was a member of the Lions. Ron enjoyed golfing and loved to fish. He took many fishing trips to Canada and South Dakota throughout the years. Ron and Betty spent many winters in Texas. Ron died July 2, 2020 at West Bend Health and Rehabilitation in West Bend, Iowa. Survivors include his children: Bonnie Meyer of Cedar Park, TX, Carol (Chuck) Shellmyer of Urbandale, IA, Terry (Deb) Meyer of Rochester, MN, and Rod (Ellen) Meyer of Whittemore, IA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Dean (Marlene) Meyer of Algona, IA and sister Doris Meyer of San Antonio, TX. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty in 2011, brothers Amos and Kenny Meyer and sister Lavonne Garman.
