Ronald Ward Hairfield, 65, of 3437 Old Richmond Road, Danville died Friday, March 18, 2011 in Halifax Regional Hospital. Born September 21, 1945 in Farmville, VA, he was the son of the late Oswald Hairfield and the late Margaret Ward Hairfield. He was self-employed as a farmer before retirement. He was married to Linda Adams Hairfield, his wife and companion for 29 years. Mr. Hairfield was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Helen Bravick. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step-daughter, Kimberly A. Phelps of Danville and a step-son, James C. Ayers of Stuart; a sister, Susan Blevins of Axton, his step-grandchildren, Jennifer Ayers, Hannah Kassebaum, Roger Phelps, III (Trey), Hayden Phelps and Eva Phelps and his step-great-grandchildren, Michael and Madison Taylor.
