Ron was predeceased by one brother Robert W. Setty. He is also survived by his beloved cats Ridley and Katia.
Ron served in the United States Army in the highlands of Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He also earned a Commendation Medal for Valor under fire. He became a firefighter upon returning to his home with the Miamiville and the Montgomery Ohio Community Fire Departments. He and Barbara moved from Ohio in 2015 to Port St. Lucie.
