Rollin Roy Van De Riet, 87, of Great Falls, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2015.

Rollin was born January 9, 1928 to Jack and Mabel Van De Riet. He graduated from Fairfield High School and went on to become a barber for 40 years. He found his love in Margaret and they married April 2, 1946. While raising a family he was a member of the barber’s union. He also enjoyed playing the drums, fishing, hunting, and camping. He was an active member in his church and loved talking to people about the Lord.

Those who knew him best would say Rollin was a ‘tell it like it is man’ and he was always there to offer his advice and share his own personal experiences. He was extremely loyal and loved his family with his entire being. You could always count on him to lend a listening ear and render truthful advice. He was knowledgeable on many subjects ranging from fishing to politics to the Bible. He lived a full wonderful life with his wife by his side. He raised not only his three boys but in some way or another had a hand in raising all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He has left a great legacy that will live on in his family for years to come.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Great Falls, MT; his sister, Betty (Joe) of Eugene, Oregon; his three sons, Don (Kathy) of Seeley Lake, MT; Ken (Kim) of Campbell, CA; and Jim of Great Falls, MT. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jeanna.
