Roland Joseph Mercure of Plymouth, passed away at home on March 27, 2021 at the age of ninety-three. He was the beloved husband of the late Aline Lucille (Detonnancourt) Mercure; loving father of Wilfred J. Mercure of Dorchester and Virginia Beth Mercure of Plymouth. He leaves four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Roland was born on March 29, 1927 in Killingly, Connecticut to the late Wilfred J. and Yolande B. (Arcand) Mercure. He was a graduate of Boston University and received his Doctorate Degree. He was a Speech and Language Pathologist for Weymouth Public Schools for twenty years. Roland was a veteran in the United States Navy. He took a special interest in Genealogy, studied Portuguese and took flying lessons at Plymouth Airport. He enjoyed painting, drawing and woodworking. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
