Roger Lee Pruitt, 66, of 11921 Chatham Road, Axton, VA died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. He was born on December 25, 1944 in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Ervin “Pete†Pruitt and Thelma Rigney Pruitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Joyce Moore and Diane Robertson; brothers, Walter Pruitt and Charlie Pruitt and grandson, Rocky Lee Pruitt, Jr. Mr. Pruitt attended Valley Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Axton, VA and was retired. Surviving are his wife, Alice White Pruitt of the home; daughters, Lisa Rigney of Martinsville, VA and Lori Pruitt of Bradenton, FL; sons, William Pruitt and Rocky Pruitt both of Axton, VA; sisters, Shirley Jones of Eden, NC and Betty Gammons of Collinsville, VA; brother, Darryl Pruitt of Ridgeway, VA; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
