Upland: Roger L. Reece, 61, went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, July 11, 2013, in his residence, surrounded by family. He was born on October 20, 1951, to the late James Robert and Erma (Schroll) Reece.
He graduated from Eastbrook High School with the class of 1970 and married Brenda Stotts on May 27, 1972 Roger, who was employed with Gas City Lumber for 6 years, and Owens-Illinois, Marion for 10 years, before retiring from University Nursing Center, Upland, after 10 years, attended Grace Community Church, Marion.
He was an Upland Volunteer Fireman for 12 years and an EMT with Upland Medic 8 for 10 years. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and was an avid fan of the Cubs, Colts, Pacers and NASCAR. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, and family dinners on Sundays.
Survivors include his wife Brenda, Upland; children, Roger Reece II, and Crystal (Jason) Robbins, both of Upland; a sister Roberta Nelson, Marion; a brother, Ronnie Reece, Upland, a sister-in-law, Diane Reece, Marion; four grandchildren, Allyson, Kiana, Justen and Janessa; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Bill, Chuck, and Delmer, and sisters, Judy and Penny.
