Those left to honor Bart’s memory are his 2 sons, Wesley Barton of Newton and Jacob McMahon of Marshalltown; daughter, Shawna Barton of Grinnell, Iowa; his 3 grandchildren, Shiara Crilly, Lux Barton, and Steven Van Zante; and brother, Robert Stanley (Ellen) Barton of Des Moines, Iowa.
He was prededed in death by his step-father, Bob Smith in Decmeber 2006 and sister, Barbara Jamison.
Bart graduated from Fort Dodge High School and was the furnace tender at the Maytag Foundry for 24 years.
He was a member of the UAW Local 997, ABATE District 9, and Newton Baptist Temple.
