Roger Towns passed away in his home on Monday, August 15, 2016. He was born November 18, 1935 in Falfurrias, Texas. He lived in Bruni and spent most of his childhood days in South Texas. He earned a B.B.A. degree from the University of Texas, a Master’s Degree from Texas A & M in Kingsville, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Texas A & M in College Station. His careers included an Elementary Principal, Classroom teacher, College Professor and later a State Farm Insurance Agent. Roger loved to hunt, fish, bird watch and read extensively. He loved to travel and meet new people and never lost his sense of adventure. He was known as “Boompa” and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by Betty, his wife of 52 years; Donna and Jim Hardin of Fair Oaks Ranch and grandchildren Jacob and Emma; Laura and Keven Sullivan of Boerne and grandchildren Mason and Barret; Kirk Towns of Boerne and grandchildren Hunter, Madison, Whitney, and Marshall of Wimberley; sister Betty and husband Steven Hudson of Burnet; sister-in law Kathryn Elder of San Antonio; and five nieces and nephews.
