Roger Brown was born December 20, 1957, in McCool, Mississippi to his loving parents, Willis Murphy and Elouise [Sims] Yarbrough.  

Roger graduated from John Marshall High School in 1976. Shortly after, he enlisted in the U.S.  Navy, where he served for many years. Roger was a hard worker and developed a passion for landscaping. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he lended his landscaping skills to his nephew’s business, Winters’ Lawncare, where he worked for many years.  

Roger lived his life to the fullest. Everyone who met him was touched by his humor and big personality. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met. The nickname “Boot” was coined by  his grandmother Victoria Sims in his childhood, which he would be known by for his life. Roger  loved his family, especially his mother, which whom he resided with until her death.  

Roger departed this earthly life on Tuesday May 24, 2022. We were blessed to be able to share in his  life that spanned for 64 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Willis Murphy; his mother,  Elouise Yarbrough; and his brothers, Willie James Brown and Issac Lamar Yarbrough.  

He leaves precious memories to be cherished by his siblings, Billy James Brown, Shirley Finch,  Vicky Washington, Deloise Mitchell, Sharon Ann Faire; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and  friends.
