Rodney Warren James, 51, of Vandalia, died Thursday, November 8, 2012, in Saint Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was born April 7, 1961 in Gary, Indiana to Warren Lee James and Janet Carole (Newsome) James. He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Abraham Walker; one sister, Michelle “Shelly” James; one uncle Ronald V. James; and nephew Alexander Abraham Walker.

Rodney loved Paradise Lake, his Caddy, playing Dominos, and playing cards. Right after high school Rodney turned into a Texan, living in Houston for almost thirty years. Rodney always managed to fall in love with women whose names began with “S” including Sheena, Sonya, and Sheila, all of whom he married. He broke the mold and changed to the letter “R” so that by the time of his passing he was betrothed to Rebecca.Family and friends will greatly miss Rodney.

He is survived by his mother, Janet C. Walker of Cassopolis; three brothers, Edwin G. (Sheena) Johnson, III, of Cassopolis, Randy (Beth) James of Cassopolis, Adam C. Walker of Elkhart, Indiana; Aunt Judy James of South Bend, Indiana; Uncle Dennis James of Elkhart, Indiana; two nephews Edwin G. (Anna) Johnson IV of Mattawan, Brandon James of Cassopolis; four nieces, Maria (Robert) McClenney, Janet (Eric) Steward, both of Kalamazoo, Lavonia James of North Carolina, and Michelle James of Cassopolis; and a host of other aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
