Rodney P. Allen, 66, of Fortville, passed away June 8, 2012 at Community Hospital North. He was born March 10, 1946 in Wichita Falls, TX to Harry B. and Florence (Mings) Allen.
Rodney worked as a deliveryman for McNamara Florists and was also a former pastor for Word of Love Christian Church in Richland Hills, TX. He had attended University of Texas, Austin and was a member of the Rhema Alumni Association and an avid reader and minister. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Reserves.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife Sharon Allen, whom he married on December 17, 1972 in Indianapolis; son Phillip R. (Melissa) Allen of Cumberland; grandchildren: Abigail, Isabella and Nolan Allen; niece Kandance Eakins; and aunt Peggy McCorkle. He was preceded in death by his parents; half-brother William Allen; and daughter Abigail Amaris Allen.
