Rodger was a member of the Church of Christ in Whiteland, Indiana. He enjoyed reading and liked watching old movies. He loved his dog and relaxing in the recliner. Rodger served his country and was the United States Air Force Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Alden of New Whiteland; his children, Rodger Alden Jr. of Indianapolis, John Alden of Poland, Eugene (Sue) Alden of Bargersville, Paul (Rebecca) Alden of Indianapolis, Terry (Paula) Alden of Florida, Priscilla (Tom Hinds) Alden of Indianapolis, Elizabeth (Eugene) Bibb of Greenwood, Jasmin (Keith) Fordyce of New Whiteland; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Rodger was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sarah Root; brothers, John Alden Jr. and Booth Alden.
