Roderick Neal Hartwell of Boise passed away on November 12th at his home. Roderick was born in Wendell, Idaho on July 1, 1941 to Clayton and Grace Hartwell. He grew up in Boise, attending South Jr. High and Borah High School. He was always proud of being in the 2nd graduating class of Borah and often reminisced about being part of Coach Troxel’s winning football era. He was always a loyal Borah supporter and enjoyed attending football and basketball games all through the years including this fall season.
Roderick married his high school sweetheart.
Roderick went to work for Consolidated Freightways in the mid seventies. He was a skilled driver with a thirty year accident free record.
His dedication to his job was second only to his family. Family meant everything to him and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. By the third generation he was even changing poopy diapers! He is sorely missed; hearts are aching and breaking.
Roderick is survived by his wife, Vicki, children Michael (Deborah), Mary Karol Taylor (Brian), Anna Berlinguet (David), grandchildren Kayla (Adam), Dale, Brienna, Madison, Clayton, Ava, Soren and great-grandson, Kashton. Also surviving are three siblings, Connie Morrison (Gene), Karen Moore-Wagg, Brit Kelly (Kevin), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and second cousins, all of whom were very dear to him.
