Robyn Gardner Oleson, 60, of West Haven, Utah passed away on September 6, 2016 while sleeping next to her sweetheart in San Diego, California. The two were on a celebratory vacation for their 40th wedding anniversary.

Robyn was born in Murray, Utah on September 14, 1955 to Joseph Gardner and Wanda Johnson. She lived in Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, and California while growing up. However, Robyn, like one of her favorite Beach Boy songs, always was a “California Girl” at heart. She loved the ocean and jumping in the waves. She graduated from Roy High School in 1973 where she was a member of the color guard.

She married the love of her life, Darrell LeRoy Oleson, on September 9, 1976 in the Manti, Utah Temple. Robyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life centered around her family. She made time for anyone and everyone. She had the unique ability to make everyone feel special and find the good in everything.

Throughout her life Robyn enjoyed working with children. From the time that she was a teenager she worked in and managed daycares, worked as a substitute teacher, special education aide, and as a Headstart teacher. She spent countless hours volunteering with The Special Olympics and founded a support group called “Families in Transition” for families who have children with disabilities. Robyn was an active member of the LDS church and found joy in dedicating her time to her various church callings.

Robyn is survived by her husband, Darrell Oleson; father, Joseph Gardner; siblings, Joseph Gardner, Wayne Gardner, and TinaMarie Gardner. She is the much loved mother of her ten children, Amy (Craig) Russell, Tandy (David) Price, Darrick Oleson, Melodie (Wayne) Thomas, Levi Oleson, Angela (Kyle) Vance, Kyle Oleson, Darrell Oleson, Lenzy Oleson; and eleven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Johnson Gardner; sister, Sylvia Gardner Hill; and son, Jeremiah Oleson.
