Robert “Bob” Merwood McDaniel, age 74 of Knottsville, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Grafton, September 28, 1935, a son of the late Harold and Marguarite Collier McDaniel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; Eleanor McDaniel.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Marion V. Pratt McDaniel; two sons: Robert (Mark) McDaniel and wife Lydia of Bridgeport, Alan Kent McDaniel and wife Lisa of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren; Erin McDaniel, Justin McDaniel, Zachary McDaniel and Caitlin McDaniel; two sisters, Virginia Irene Willis, Manistique, MI, Rebecca Lynn Zickefoose, Verona, VA.; one brother, Harold Thomas McDaniel and wife Virginia, West Palm Beach, Fl, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob graduated from Grafton High School, served in the US Navy for four years and then the US Air Force for seventeen and half years serving during the Vietnam War.
