Roberta Shirley, 88, of New Carlisle, Indiana, and formerly of Three Oaks and New Troy, died Monday, June 11, 2012 at Hamilton Communities in New Carlisle, Indiana. Roberta was born January 3, 1924 in Laporte County, Indiana to John and Mary (Hubbard) Cutler.

She grew up in Three Oaks and graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1941. She was employed at Electro Voice in Buchanan, retiring after 30 years service. Roberta was a member of the First Congregational Church of Three Oaks and a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Always the tomboy, she continued rooting for the Chicago Cubs, in good times and bad. She enjoyed playing BINGO and seemed to have a knack for winning.

Survivors include her son, Larry Shirley of Sunnyvale, California; granddaughters, Kristy (Yuri) Vanzine of Henderson, NV and Kandace (Tim) VanTilburg of Crown Point, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Jack, Parker, Jonah, and Jude and her brother, Louis Cutler of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Shirley and by her son, Kenneth J. Shirley.
