Robert W. (Bob) Burge, 86, of Kingwood died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Pine Ridge with family by his side.

He was born June 8, 1929, in Albright, a son of the late Henry W. and Ella Beatrice Funk Burge.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the U S Army during the Korean Conflict, was a cable splicer for C&P Telephone Company, a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, a graduate of Kingwood High School, Class of 1947 where he was honorable mention, WV All-State Basketball team, a member of the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers, former member of the Knight of Pythias Lodge and a regular attender of the Hardees coffee club.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Stemple Burge; his two sons, Robert Burge and wife, Cathy of Kingwood and Ronald Burge and wife, Trudy of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Brian Burge and wife, Rachel, Bethany Longwell, Veronica Vandevender and husband, Jason and Chris Swecker; three great grandchildren, Addison Longwell, Hunter Vandevender and Brooks Burge and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Burge, four brothers, Eston, Fred, Carroll and Frank Burge; three sisters, Nina White, Rosalee Owens and Helen Mae Kenyon and his mother in-law and father in-law, Jessie & Ted Stemple.
