Robert Waaso, 89, of Grand Haven, Michigan died Friday morning, December 21, 2012 at Riverside Nursing & Rehabilitation in Grand Haven. Bob was born July 19, 1923 in Three Oaks, Michigan to Charles and Elizabeth (Schwark) Waaso. He graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1941. Bob served his country in the US Army during WWII, attaining the Rank of Staff Sergent.
Bob was stationed in the African Middle Eastern Theater and earned a Bronze Star for his service. He had worked at the Warren Featherbone Factory in Three Oaks and then at their New York location where he was a manager.
Bob retired from J.C. Penny’s shipping and receiving department.He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Teresa (Wilson) Waaso in 2000. His sisters, Josephine Waaso, Elsie Rinker, Leona Shively and Cynthia Novacek; and brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, Raymond, Royal, Louis, Randall and LeRoy also preceded him in death.
