Robert W. Senack Sr., 74, entered into eternal life with his family by his side on August 6, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on May 10, 1935 in Winsted, where he lived most of his life. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, June, and his brother, Joseph Senack, Jr. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Dondero) served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Prior to retiring in 1992, he was Chief Field Inspector for the Department of Environmental Protection, Water Management was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He handled the health challenges of the last months of his life in the same way that he lived, with quiet dignity and grace. Bob will be missed by his family and friends, and all those who were lucky enough to have known him. He is survived by two sons, Robert W. Senack Jr. and his wife Elaine of Torrington, and William J. Senack and his wife Christine of Old Saybrook; two grandsons and two granddaughters. The Senack family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Center for Cancer Care in Torrington, and the VNS of CT Torrington Hospice Team. We would also like to express our gratitude to all his aides for their kindness and care of Bob during the last months of his life.
