Robert W. “Bob” Anderson, 82 years, of Virginia, IL died Saturday April 26, 2008 at his residence north of Virginia.
He was born July 18, 1925 in Roxana, IL the son of Siegle W. and Maude Mae Hildebrand Anderson. He married Rosemary Bethel on February 27, 1954 in Brighton, IL and she preceded him in death on February 24, 1994.
He is survived by one daughter, Audrey (husband, David) Cox of Virginia; two sons, Wyatt D. (wife, Karen) Anderson of Chandlerville, IL and Douglas N. Anderson of Virginia, IL; six grandchildren, Devin (wife, Jessica) Cox, Chloe Cox, Adam (wife, Tina) Suffern, Wesley (wife,Sonia) Anderson, Ashley Anderson, and Cole Anderson; one sister, Doris (husband, Jack) Dilliard of Washington, MO; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and granddaughter, Whitney Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a Boilermaker with local 27 in St. Louis, MO. He retired after 42 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the US Navy during World War II and served in a â??Seabeesâ?? division. One of his greatest loves was taking trips in his motor home.
