Robert Harrison Tsosie, 78, peacefully passed away on March 20, 2021 at Flagstaff, AZ. He was born on March 28, 1942 in Chinle, AZ to Roscoe Goldtooth and Irene Watchman. Robert grew up in Chinle, AZ. He graduated from Inter-mountain Indian School in Brigham City, UT in 1963.
After school, he attended Weber State University in Ogden, UT where he received a bachelor’s in Engineering. He worked for the Utah State Highway Department as a Draftsman for 10 years, then with a local Engineering contractor in Ogden, Utah for another 10 years and lastly, ended with the Winslow Indian Hospital/Office of Environmental Health under Department of Defense as an Engineering Draftsman for 27 years. He retired in 2017.
Robert married Gloria Bilagody in 1973 in Salt Lake City, UT. Later, they married for Time and all Eternity at the Salt Lake City Temple in 1996. They were happily married for 48 years. Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of the Sunset Ward in Winslow, AZ. He loved the scriptures dearly. He read them everyday and kept notes of what inspired him. He enjoyed puzzles, “Mahjong” the computer game, Elvis Presley music, John Wayne movies and dancing with his wife.
Robert is survived by his spouse, Gloria Tsosie; (3) children: Roberta Alegria of Cottonwood, AZ, Kimberly Mangum of Winslow, AZ and John Lamb of Willow Bay, UT. His siblings: Elizabeth Harrison of Cudei, NM, Bertie Tahbo of Lehi, UT, Sadie Manuel of Salt Lake City, UT, Henry Tsosie of Jordan, UT and Larry Tsosie of Salt Lake City, UT. His grandchildren, Kira Rain Attakai, Christian Alegria Jr. and Janay Tsosie. There are also many nieces and nephews and relatives.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Irene Tsosie and Roscoe Goldtooth, and stepfather Paul Tsosie. His siblings, Herbert Tsosie, and Lena Tsosie and his son, Matthew Tsosie.
