He graduated from Northern State University where he met his wife, Susan Small, and were together for 47 years with most of this time spent in Boise. Children Rachel and Rory were raised in Boise and attended Borah High School.

His career started with John Morrell Meats by way of St. Paul, Minnesota and Billings, Montana, which then brought him to Boise, Idaho. Robert worked for Hewlett-Packard and Jabil for over 20 years. In 2004 while working for Mesa Tile and Stone he had a severe accident that left him paralyzed. He was never bitter and excepted his fate for 13 years. From the confines of his wheelchair he still continued to follow every sport and was a fervent fan of Borah High School and Boise State University. Robert loved to follow local athletes through their careers. In recent years, he was an avid player of “Words with Friends” with many and spent a majority of his time putting jigsaw puzzle’s together.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Susan, daughter Rachel Schubert (fiancé Jon), children Willis, Paige, and Sydney, son Rory Earley (wife LeAna), children Hudson and Brennan, and all five of his siblings.
