Robert Scott Taylor, 78, of Normandy Beach section of Toms River Twp., NJ passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he has lived in Normandy Beach for the past 62 years. Robert retired in 1991 as Supervisor at Ciba Geigy in Toms River after 27 years. He was a 33 year member of the US Coast Guard Reserves, Manasquan, NJ, attaining the rank of Senior Chief.
Robert was a member of the bowling leagues at Playdrome, Toms River and Ocean Lanes, Brick, NJ for over 40 years, was an avid fisherman and was a member of the Lavallette Beach Association. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Taylor.
Robert is survived by his children Lynne Scott Holmes of Lumberton, NC, Laura Taylor and her spouse Linda Galli of Wayne, NJ, and R. Scott Taylor, Jr. of Orlando, FL, a sister Janet Sindle and her husband Harry of Gloucester, VA, a brother M. Kent Taylor and his wife Lou of Gloucester, VA, 6 grandchildren Amanda Schimpf, Christopher Burghardt, Jennifer Lynne Walters, Kristin Lorraine Wood, Robert Scott Taylor III & Alexis Dawn Taylor, 6 great grandchildren, his companion of 9 years Jane Siebert of Normandy Beach and many loving nieces and nephews.
