Robert “Bob” Lawrence Saf, 92, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Woodland Creek Retirement Community in Clive, IA. A
Bob was born January 30, 1929, in Des Moines, IA, to John and Esther (Wallner) Saf. He married Mae Lou Reeck on April 9, 1949 in Des Moines.
Bob served in the US Army. He was a fireman for 10 years for the City of Des Moines and then worked as a director of Electrical training for Iowa Electricians Education Trust for 13.5 years. He was a member of Electrician – Local Union 347, Lutheran Church of Hope, Chairman of the Iowa State Vocational Education Commission, National Training Director’s Association, Central Iowa Employment and a member of the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.
Bob is survived by his children, Jeannie Saf of Lee’s Summit, MO and Ronald Saf of Des Moines, IA; eleven grandchildren, Tim (Jessy) Pardue, Jeff (Erica) Pardue, Jason Pardue, Kellie Weiss, Tawnia Martin, Clint Robbins, Justin (Kristin) Saf, Katie Saf, Robbie (Kristin) Saf, Hannah Saf, and Harley Williams; thirteen great-grandchildren, Brittney, Geordyn, Taelor, C.J., Lily, Fayelynn, Jaden, Wyatt, Mac, Adilynn, Clint Jr., Noah, and Brenden; six great-great grandchildren, Mathew, Jacob, Harper, Teigenh, Chadeyn, and Rex.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Lou Saf, his parents, his son, Michael Saf, and brother, Ronald V. Saf.
