Robert P. Chubb, age 92 of Sanford died at his residence on Sunday, January 18, 2015. The son of the late Lynol and Olive (Brooks) Chubb was born on August 3, 1922 in Lansing and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw in 1941. He served with the U. S. Navy on a mine sweeper during WWII. On May 18, 1953 he married the former Ardath Freeman in Angola, Indiana.

Robert worked for the Dow Chemical Co as an Instrument Journeyman, retiring in 1980 after 38 years of service. He was member of the Sanford United Methodist Church, VFW and the American Legion and enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles, making model cars & ships and especially enjoyed reminiscing about his old Navy days. After his retirement they moved to Frederick, MI until their return to Sanford thirteen years ago. They also wintered in Rockport, TX for many years.

Robert is survived by his wife Ardath Chubb; one son William (Beth) Maybee of Midland; daughters Sandra (Ron) Howden of Kalamazoo, Debra (David) Schweigert of Midland, Nancy (Tim) Walsh of Cypress, Texas; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and sisters-in-law Florence Chubb and Margaret Chubb. He was predeceased by brothers Russell and Jack Chubb.
