ROBERT NORMAN FINCH Robert Norman Finch passed away December 12, 2017 at the age of 89 in Golden, Colorado. He was born August 21, 1928 to Robert McGee Finch and Fannie Lou Brown in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He grew up in Simla, Colorado, and on various farms and ranches in eastern Colorado prior to settling in the Monument/Palmer Lake area. Upon graduation from Monument High School in 1946, he joined the Army, serving during WWII and the Korean War. After attending college at Colorado College and graduating from Colorado State College in 1952, he married and spent most of his 30+ year teaching career as a math teacher at North Aurora Middle School, retiring in 1985. A gentle soul with a big heart, he was a devoted family man throughout his life, enjoying extended family events and road trips plus being there for his kids and grandkids’ numerous activities. His pastimes included; growing beautiful roses, bicycle riding, camping, theater going, cross country skiing, travel, and attending Broncos games since 1967. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and an active Shriner, driving his Model T car with the T Nobles in many parades around Colorado. He also volunteered with the Oasis Program, reading to elementary school children, and with AARP to help seniors with tax preparation. He is preceded in death by wives Jeannie (Davis, 1967) and Lorena (Bolinger, 1983). He is survived by wife Lucille Finch and sister Vera Mae Burkes. In addition, he is survived by children Ron (Bev Louie) Finch, Debbie (Matt) Davis, Sharon (John) Leslie and Debra (Joe) Markano. Grandchildren include Neal (Lila) Finch, Rory Finch, Ryan McKenna, Claire McKenna, Jen (Anbu Thangaraj) Leslie, Joshua (Jackie) Leslie, Evan Markano, Alex Markano, and great grandson, Jacob Leslie.
