Mr. Robert Newman “Bobby” Smoot, age 79, of Lanett, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home on July 21st, 2022. He was born on January 4th, 1943 in West Point, Georgia to the late Ralph and Loneta Smoot.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Sylvia Smoot; son, Robert Smoot (Monica); daughter, Julie Mitchum (Benji); grandchildren, Sara Smoot, Hannah Beasley, and Carter Smoot; brothers, Byron Smoot (Dianne) and Randy Smoot (Manda). He also had a caretaker, David Buckner.
Bobby was a salesman for Twin City Wholesale for thirty plus years. His joys in life were his family, church, golf, and watching Auburn Athletics. He loved his family dearly, especially his three grandchildren who were the light of his life. He was a faithful man of the Lord and served as a Deacon for Providence Baptist Church for forty years.
