Robert McLaughlin, age 76 of Machipongo, VA died on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Tribute at Heritage Village in Gainesville, VA. He is survived by his children Jim McLaughlin and wife Annette, Barbara McNiff and husband John, Marianne McLaughlin and Chris McLaughlin and wife Lindsey; his sister Helen Lechner and by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Pierce Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Mother of God Catholic Church, 727 Fifth Street NW, Washington, DC on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment with full military honors at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that contributions in his memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital-50l St. Jude Place-Memphis, TN 38105.
