Robert Matthew “Cobb” Akins, 67, of East Palatka, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka. He was the owner and operator of Robert Akins Lathing and Stucco for 30 years. In his leisure time, Robert enjoyed fishing, shrimping, and watching NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George. W. Akins and Virginia Dunson Akins, and brothers, Arnold, Henry, and Donald.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Deborah Akins, children, Michael Akins (Stephanie), Matthew Akins (Lauren) and Brandy Akins (Caitie), brother, George “Beepa” Akins”, sisters, Sarah Salyerds (Alvin), and Deborah Casey, as well as grandchildren, Tyler, Madison and Isabella Akins.
