Robert “Bob” Louis Mahler was born on October 8, 1934 in Fort Robinson, Nebraska.  He transitioned to heaven on April 21, 2020 at the age of 85.  Whenever asked how he was doing his response was the same, “better than most!”   Bob was a strong, kind-hearted, gentle soul and it was an honor and privilege to be in his presence.  At a very young age, Bob moved to Boise, Idaho with his family.  He spent over 80 years in the great state of Idaho and called it “home.”  Bob graduated from Boise High School in 1952. He then met the love of his life, Marilyn, while she was working at the Roundhouse Drive-Up off College Boulevard in Boise.  Bob married his “green-eyed Italian,” on November 3, 1956.  Together, they had three children, Cherie, Cindy, and Joe.  Bob worked for the State of Idaho from which he retired.  Bob was generous, understanding, incredibly practical, and loved unconditionally.  He touched the lives of so many people with his gentle, quiet presence and dry sense of humor.  Bob was always a family man and from his three children he had eight grandchildren, too many to count great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Many thanks to Aspen Valley Senior Living Community for taking excellent care of Bob his last few months of life.
