Robert Lee Mortensen
July 27, 1940 – November 10, 2016

Robert Lee Mortensen, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016. He was born in Logan, Utah on July 27, 1940, a son of Walter George and Louise Moody Mortensen.

He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy, on the USS Midway doing damage control during the Vietnam War. He also served in the Utah National Guard and retired as a Master Sergeant from the Army Reserves. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Robert worked for Lockheed Martin, he was a painting contractor, and he worked for Ogden School District. He enjoyed horses, camping, dutch oven cooking, gardening, fishing, hunting, and being a wonderful grandfather.

On October 1, 1994, he married Marjorie B. Swain in Lake Tahoe, California. They enjoyed twenty two years together. He was a unique man. He was hardworking, loyal, caring, giving, and a generous, kind person.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie, daughter Shelly Mortensen, step-daughter, Shelley Brooks, step-sons Regan and Eric Swain, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters, Trudy Ann Shields, Georgia Price, Wendy Parrish, brothers, Kim Mortensen, Corey Mortensen, and Todd Mortensen.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Critt Aardema, Tasha from Visiting Angels and Becca Swain for the care given to Bob.
