Life’s Reflection
On the bright sunshiny day of August 12th, 1968, the Lord blessed Hazel J. Allen-McMichel and the late Robert McMichel Jr. with a beautiful baby boy. They named him Robert Lee McMichel III.
Robert Lee McMichel III A.K.A.Robert also attended Arlington, Northwest, Lawrence Central and Warren Central High Schools. Robert went on to further his education at Sullivan Community College in Louisville, Kentucky.
Robert loved music and worked as a Disc Jockey at WJBL, “The HOP” and other social clubs as “DJ Bob Mac”. Robert also worked in several manufacturing positions for companies, such as General Motors, Autoliv seat belt company and Novi Pax. He also worked as a soul food cook at local bars and restaurants.
Robert “Bobby” loved sports, but his favorite sport was basketball, where he excelled! Bobby loved to play Ball! In the summertime, if you were looking for Bobby, you could find him at Riverside Park basketball courts or West Montgomery Park, back in the day. He played Varsity basketball in High School and received a scholarship to Sullivan Community College to play basketball. Bobby’s other hobbies were cooking, bowling and DJing.
Even though Robert loved the game of basketball, there was nothing that he loved more than his children.
Robert was preceded in death by father, Robert McMichel Jr.; grandfathers, Robert McMichel Sr. and Pastor Sherman Allen Sr.; maternal grandmother, Juanita Allen; uncles, Donald Wayne Allen, Robert D. Allen, Wilford L. Allen, Sherman D. Allen Jr., Richard McMichel, Ronald McMichel, Andrew McMichel and David McMichel.
Robert heard the voice of his heavenly father on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
