Robert L. Zook, 89, of Anderson, went home to be with The Lord, and his wife, Mary, on November 7, 2013.

He was born on August 18, 1924 in Greencastle, Indiana and resided most of his life in Anderson. Bob graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1942, and he served his country in the Army during WWII. He retired as an Engineer for Guide Lamp Division of General Motors with more than 33 years of service. He traveled extensively for General Motors, to Detroit, Mexico, Canada, and Australia, and his family often traveled with him.

Bob had a close personal relationship with Jesus, and he studied his Bible daily. He collected antique woodworking tools, and kaleidoscopes with his wife. Mostly he enjoyed making people smile, listening to good music, spending time with his wife and family, and entertaining others. Bob loved to tinker in his garage, designing clever solutions to simple problems, leading to inventions like The Zook Quilting Frame.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Jeff Farrell; grandchildren, Eric Stephanie Farrell and Elysa Farrell; nieces, Jean Neil Pape, Jane Zook, Natice Miller and Barbara Ann Mays.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary E. Zook; sisters, Helen Masten and Esther Parke; brother, John Zook; and his nephew, Jerry Zook.
