Born in Albany, he was son of the late Robert L. Steele Sr. and Shirley Oswald Steele. He had resided in Ballston Spa for over 30 years.
Robert was an identification examiner for the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for 24 years.
He loved playing bingo.
Survivors include his brother, Michael (Linda) Steele, Houston, TX; and his nieces, April Martin and Bethann Steele-Falardeau.
