Surrounded by his loving family, Robert Kenneth Smith, 63, of Carlisle, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 in the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born July 12, 1949 in Lock Haven, Pa, he was a son of the late George O. and Fannie (McKibben) Smith.
A 1967 graduate of Lock Haven High School, Rob was a retired Sergeant First Class in the U S Army, and served during the Vietnam War. He was currently employed as a forklift operator at Exel in Carlisle.
He attended Mary Queen of Peace Chapel, Carlisle Barracks.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Janet Brungard and three brothers: Eugene, Donald and Gary Smith.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years: Margie (Litz) Smith; two daughters: Karen Diehl and husband Todd of Newville and Amy Perry Lawrence of Atlanta, GA; two sons: Christopher M. and Brian P. Smith and wife Joni, all of Carlisle; three sisters: Georgiene Conklin and Cheryl Fuller, both of Rote, PA and Ruth Brown of Carlisle; two brothers: Karl Smith of Belgrade, Minnesota and Tuck Smith of Cogan Station, PA; two sisters in law: Susan Miller and husband Timothy of Mill Hall, PA and Debbie Litz of Carlisle and a brother in law: Melvin Litz, Jr., of Lewisburg; two granddaughters: Madelyn Smith of Carlisle and Mikayla Smith of Elkland, PA.
