Robert J. Throop (Rober), age 64, of Rome, passed away on March 20, 2013.
Robert was born on June 23rd, 1948 in Rome, N.Y., and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1966. He married Sandra Slobodian in 1982 and they were married 27 years.
Robert worked as a Manager/Projectionist at the Carousel Mall Theater in Syracuse, NY as well as the Capitol Theater in Rome. Robert had two main passions in life, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rome, N.Y. and film projection where he has been very active since he was 16 years old.
Robert is survived by his brother, Daniel Throop (wife Lauran), currently living in Clayton, NY; his stepmother, Lucille Jones of Rome; his stepdaughter, Beth Anne James from Vernon, NY, currently living in Reston, Virginia; his stepson, Chris James of Vernon, NY, currently living in Los Angeles, California; and a nephew Benjamin Throop and niece, Jessica Throop Heilmann.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife Sandra, and his parents Vincent W. Throop and Mildred E. Throop.
