Troy – Robert J. Kiley, 74, died Saturday, September 30, 2017, at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Troy, he was son of the late James Edward Kiley and Mary M. Dewan Kiley and husband for 49 years of the late Agnes M. LeFevre Kiley, who died in January of 2016. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Mr. Kiley was employed from 1974-2000 for Niagara Mohawk and National Grid and from 2000 -2005 for PSEG in Glenmont as a steam plant operator. He also worked as an IronWorker for 10 years with Local 12 in Albany and was a member of IBEW electricians union.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy and a member of the American Legion. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a US Army veteran stationed in Germany and a member of the Presidential Honor Guard.
Survivors include five sons, James R. Kiley, Troy, Sean M. (Kate Murnane) Kiley, Troy, Daniel P. (Amy) Kiley, Troy, Robert J. (Lisa Repecki) Kiley, Jr. and Shane T. (Oriana Carravetta) Kiley, Albany; four grandchildren, Aidan, Brynn, Nicholas and Sophia Kiley; a sister-in-law, Claire Kiley, Troy and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William Kiley.
