Robert W. Jackson, age 91, of Centralia, IL, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 12:55 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Breese, IL. Robert was born on April 5, 1924 in Centralia, IL, a son to Joe Evans Jackson and Ida Beatrice (Vick) Jackson. On June 28, 1942, he married Bessie M. (McKinzie) Jackson in Maplewood, MO and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years; daughters, Lynette Murray of Centralia, IL and Bobbie McBride and husband Oren of Evansville, IN; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Courter of Terra Haute, IN; one brother, John Jackson and wife Rose of Centralia, IL; two sisters-in-law, Donna Jackson of Centralia, IL and Elisabeth Jackson of Centralia, IL; nine grandchildren, Cheryl Dunn and husband John, Tim McBride and friend Ben Ashley, Chris McBride and wife Jenny, Robert Murray and wife Christi, Tracy Whitlock and friend Chris Folmsbee, Lisa Hill and husband Jason, Melanie Wathan and husband Jack, Jessica Tate and husband Dan, and Julie McCoy and husband Josh; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous dear nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Billy Dale Jackson, who was killed in Vietnam in 1968, and Kevin Jackson after battling cancer for ten years; four brothers, James Jackson, Kenneth Jackson, Donald Jackson, and Billy Jackson; two sisters, Louise Scoggins and Vernell Harding; two sisters-in-law, Maimie Jackson and Mary Jackson; and a brother-in-law, Lee Harding. Mr. Jackson was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed fishing and having company. He was a member of the Moose, VFW and American Legion, and spent his winters in Florida. He greatly enjoyed spending time with all his family.
