Robert J. Leyshon, 90, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Above and Beyond Personal Care in Allentown. He was the husband of the late Gladys H. (Swoyer) Leyshon, who passed away in 2001. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Helen P. (Sturgus) Leyshon. Robert served his country in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre, where his tank armored division landed on Omaha Beach. He worked as a driver in the Lehigh Valley for many years for Johnson Motor Lines and later for Avis Rent-A-Car. Robert also served as a volunteer driver for 5 years at Phoebe Richland. Robert and his wife Gladys were avid antique collectors. Survivors: Son, Robert J. Leyshon II of Bethlehem. Robert was preceded in death by a brother Thomas J. Leyshon, who was killed in 1943 while serving his country.
