Robert J. Kleppinger, 94, of Allentown, passed away peacefully in his son’s home on Friday, January 23, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Betty J. (Smith) Kleppinger, with whom he shared over 71 years of marriage. Born in Belfast, PA, he was the son of the late Frank A. and Sally F. (Schappel) Kleppinger. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and later worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. in the Social Insurance Department, retiring after 42 years. He was a dedicated member of Calvary Wesleyan Church, serving the church in many leadership possitions. He enjoyed gardening and loved his family and the Lord. Survivors: beloved wife Betty; Daughter, Karen K. Crone and her husband David of Lexington, SC; sons, Robert K. Kleppinger and his wife Donna of Walnutport, David M. Kleppinger and his wife Susan of Bethlehem, Kevin J. Kleppinger and his wife Debra of Center Valley; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
