Naugatuck – Mr. Robert J. Chesinas, age 84, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully in the VITAS unit at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury after a brief illness.
Mr. Chesinas was born in West Hartford, on September 25, 1930, the son of Nellie (Halen) Chesinas. He was a 1958 graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and was retired from Eastern Airlines where he worked as a financial analyst and administrator for many years. He was an accomplished football player in High School having played at quarterback and end for Crosby High School and was an All City Player at Crosby High. He was a member of the collegiate Billiard Team at the University of Florida. Bob enjoyed working out at the YMCA, playing basketball, tennis, football, softball and was an avid golfer having scored 8 holes in one in, and was a member of the Senior Softball League having gone to 6 Senior World Series. He also spent many hours volunteering at the YMCA.
Mr. Chesinas proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War.
Mr. Chesinas is survived by his lifelong friend Francis A. Macary of Naugatuck and several nieces and nephews.
