Robert J. “Bobby Joe” Russell, 62, of Mt. Auburn, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at his home.
He was born Nov. 5, 1950, in Jacksonville, the son of Mark V. and Barbara E. Goodey Russell.
He is survived by three sons, Kyle, Ryan and Noah; his brother, Roger L. (Jo) Russell of Jacksonville; and two nieces, Kate Russell of St. Louis and Lauren Russell of Riverton. He has spent the last 18 years with his companion and best friend, Connie Besterfeldt, and her children, Angie and Adam. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Mr. Russell had worked at both United Wholesalers and West Side Auto Parts in Jacksonville. He had also been a bartender at the American Legion. Bobby Joe enjoyed spending time with his dog, Zeus. He loved being called “Uncle Bob”. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, spoiling his grandchildren, and fishing whenever he could.
