Robert Huber, 90, of Oglesby, passed away Sunday morning, March 11, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Mr. Huber was born on March 1, 1928 in Ottawa to Henry and Elsie (Sibert) Huber. He married Alice Buckley on April 23, 1949 in the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in LaSalle.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bob retired from Maze Nails in Peru in 1993. He was an avid fisherman and mushroom hunter. He is survived by his wife, Alice of Oglesby; his three children, Robert (Bonnie) Huber of Oglesby, Sandra (Rick) Evans of Oglesby and Colleen (Leo Trompeter) Hoelzer of Utica; 5 grandchildren, Robert (Heidi) Huber of Oglesby, Tarryn (Steven) Anderson of Peru, Nikki (Dylan) Brejc of Midway Park, NC, Amanda (Bob) Billings of LaSalle and Tony Hoelzer of Utica and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Gerry Nangle and one son in-law, Kenneth Hoelzer.
