Robert H. Phillips, 78, of Terre Haute, former local educator, passed away on April 27, 2013 at Union Hospital from complications of heart disease and diabetes. Bob was the former principal of Sugar Creek Consolidated Elementary School during the years 1967-1986 and served as a teacher at Davis Park, Consolidated, and Dresser and an Indianapolis Public School.
Born July 4, 1934 in Evansville, IN, Bob was the youngest child of Henry and Mabel Seifert Phillips. Bob graduated from Evansville’s Central High School in 1952 and was a leading cross country and track team member. Running, golf, and basketball were his sports. He attended Indiana State University and received his B.S.
