Robert H. Perna, LimerickBob Perna, 89, of Limerick, Pa. died peacefully on April 18, 2019 at Phoenixville Hospice. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Dolores. He was born on November 16, 1929 in Philadelphia to Eleanor (Marotta) and Joseph Perna, and his older brother, Joseph, started a Carpentry and Masonry business which led to building and eventually to General Contracting. They were involved in the ownership of many apartment buildings and retail spaces in Delaware County. Bob enjoyed many different interest and hobbies. In his younger years he was a member of the AKC. He bred and showed American Boxers. He played the organ, loved photography, and built HO trains. His culinary skills showed off his love of France. He was a connoisseur of wine. At one time he owned and ran L’Ecole du Vin, in Philadelphia. A place where people could learn to know and appreciate good wines. He made many trips traveling through out Europe with his wife and other family members discovering and enjoying the wines and foods of the regions. Bob had a satirical sense of humor. It caught you off guard but when you saw the humor in it you had to had been a volunteer at St. Padre Pio Shrine and a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta is survived by his loving children Jill MCGowan, Roberta Porrini, Robert H. Perna, Jr., Christopher P. Perna and Mary Edel Perna. He is the beloved grandfather of Lorien Porrini-Hart (John). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
