Robert G. Beemer, 96, of Spirit Lake passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at his home in Spirit Lake. Private family services will be held at a later date. Robert Beemer was born March 30, 1925, to R. Guy and Mary B (Booher) Beemer in Lakota Iowa. He graduated from Lakota Public Schools and attended Iowa State University, University of Northern Iowa, and Southeastern Missouri State University. Robert Served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945 in the South Pacific Theater. On January 18, 1947, Robert married Barbara Victor in Nevada, Iowa and made their home in Lakota. Robert worked as a well contractor until his retirement. In 1979 Robert and Barbara moved to Spirt Lake. He was a member of the Masons and Shriners Za-Ga-Zig for over 50 years. In his free time Robert loved flying and playing a round of golf with friends. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Barbara of Spirit Lake; children Monica Beemer of Spirit Lake; Rebecca (Bob) Christenson of Georgetown, CA; Pat Beemer of Spirit Lake; Michelle (Arthur) Isaacson of Dells, OR; grandchildren Gram & Elliot Thronbrogger, Trent & Alex Christensen, and Guy & Lee Beemer; and his brother Bill (Pearl) Beemer of Webster City, IA.
